Nike’s ad features voice of deceased Earl Woods

Nike is a multi-billion dollar company protecting its investment in Tiger Wood.  The television advertisement featuring the voice of Tiger’s deceased father Earl Woods is extremely offensive.  What could the ad agency for Nike have been thinking? I have no ill will toward Tiger Woods,  but why would he consent to this ad dragging his dead father into a television advertisement calculated (wrongly) to help Nike sell products?
